Taman Sari Water Castle


Taman sari is located at west of Jogjakarta sultan palace and still the scope fort palace. The name of Taman Sari interpreted by some people as a beautiful garden and enchanting. Taman Sari is a water castle formerly  used for recreation, rest house and a bastion for the Sultan, His queen and family Kraton Jogjakarta. Seen from around there is a Hallway under the ground, a pond for bathing which is equipped with a place to change clothes. Space room used for dancing, kitchens and kind.

This historic building began to be established in the mid-eighteenth century. Castle built the reign of Sultan Hamengku Buwono I. The place is also known as the water castle, which until now still looks grandeur. Taman Sari  symbolizes the interface because it indirectly connect the inner and outer sultan with his people. The building has a unique architectural structure because it has a very hard and sturdy without reinforcement.  Not far from the Castle locations are centers of batik and batik painting is the most dominant.
